Canon 50mm EF f1.8 II

Bought a new lens today at Cathay Photo. Cost me S$120. Also bought a Slik monopod (Easi-Pod Jr) for S$75.

Reasons for purchase of the lens:-

(i) In a 35mm camera, 50mm is called a standard focal length as it shows the view similar to a human eye. For 450D(APS-C), the equivalent focal length is 80mm. Remind me of the 50mm lens on Yashica camera.

(ii) The lens has received good reviews.

(iii) I want a lens that has wide aperture of 1.8

(iv) One of the most value for money lens from Canon.
