Black Eagles in Formation |
USAF C17 Globemaster III |
2 years after Singapore Air Show 2014, it is once again time for the Air Show 2016. I went to Changi Beach to catch the flight display from Malaysian Air Force, USAF and South Korea Air Force Aerobatic Team.
It was a disappointment day for several reasons. Firstly, the sky was cloudy as it had been raining yesterday and today morning. This makes the photos terrible with a dull grey background. Secondly, the flight height was much higher and there was less opportunity for a close up shot, with the exception of the USAF C17 Globemaster III. The Su-30 MKM being a highly maneuverable aircraft had a flight display that was close to the centre of Airshow. It didn't venture out to other surrounding areas as there was little turning radius needed for this aircraft.
Even the Aerobatic team from South Korea using the T-50B could be better. The formation flying was not as tight and 1 aircraft was visible to be far from the group (see photo above). From far, the T-50B looks like a F16.
I love the engine boom of the aircraft when they fly past. The C17 Globemaster III was directly above me and the sound of its 4 Pratt & Whitney turbofans was awesome.
