Chua Ek Kay |

When I was in National Gallery recently, I noticed another interesting painting by Artist Chua Ek Kay which was entitled Yellow Door 1 and 2. It is white piece of Chinese calligraphy paper with 2 strokes of black ink at the upper half of the paper. At the bottom, there are traces of ink.
I did not appreciate the intent or the artistic value of the Yellow Door. It is too abstract.
There are other nice calligraphy in the Gallery such as Pan Shou 'Poem of Zither' shown below. It has strong calligraphy strokes which show the effort and control required of the painter.
